To me personally heat is no problem – be it +40°C or whatever, I feel okay – just view it as an excuse to buy yet another top – the kind that leaves as much of one’s body uncovered as possible – or a hat. But that’s just me – the rest of my extended family and most of my colleagues go very grumpy about it. Mum cools herself using wet handkerchiefs; Janna refuses to go for a walk, and who could blame her? The forecast for the next week is over 40 every day, and nobody promises that it will ease up after that.

To say it was a disappointment would be an understatement of the year. It was two hours wasted – no events at all except the infamous “Fernado – is – faster – than – you ….please confirm you understand this message”, followed by a “sorry”.

Unfortunately I don’t know the names of these birdies or if they have any, but I know that she met the parrot on the beach of Anapa and the ostrich in the safari park in Gelendzhik (another resort town nearby)

You think so? Well, here’s the proof that it’s not quite so – the screenshot of our current weather forecast. I know it’s all in Russian, but I’ve circled the important numbers – the day-time temperatures for today, tomorrow and Monday. I’ll even spare you the trouble of converting Celsius to Fahrenheit. +33°C is equal to 91.4F, and +37°C is 98.6F. And it’s been like this most of this summer, starting as early as mid-May. Even the strictest global warming non-believers will have their beliefs shaken, perhaps, after such a summer.

This one was rather orderly, though not exactly uneventful. Vettel and Massa lost a lot of positions after the first lap, which, I guess, was quite a significant (though negative) event for them and their respective fans. Button, on the contrary, has gained a lot, and finished the fourth after starting 14th – certain heroism on his part. My favourites – except Lewis – still keep disappointing me, be it their fault or not; one day I might stop caring.
